Welcome to the City of Fort Meade Election Information Page. 

Per the City  of Fort Meade Charter, A primary election for the nomination of candidates for the office of city commissioners of the city, shall be held each year on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November for every seat on the city commission which shall become vacant at the first regular meeting of January the following year. The term of office of a city commissioner is four (4) years and begins on the first Tuesday of January following such election.

2021 Municipal Election Dates
General: November 2, 2021 - Run-Off Election: November 16, 2021 (if needed)
Polls open 7 am - 7 pm

Residents of the City of Fort Meade who are not yet registered to vote must do so by Monday, October 4th. Applications to register to vote are available at the Polk County Elections Office, Fort Meade City Hall, banks, libraries,  and other public service agencies, as well as online at PolkElections.gov   

Commission Seats Up for Election
Seat Three - Precinct 518
Seat Five - At Large
Candidates for Seat Three, Precinct 518 - must reside within Precinct 518. Candidates for Seat Five, at large - must reside within the city limits of Fort Meade. Terms are 4 years.

Seat One - Precinct 516
Candidates for Seat One, Precinct 516 must reside within Precinct 516. Term for Seat One will be the remainder of a four-year term expiring on January 9, 2024.

The meeting of the Canvassing Board of the City of Fort Meade will convene at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at City Hall in the Commission Chambers, 8 W. Broadway St., Fort Meade, FL., for the purpose of certifying the results of ballots received in the November 2, 2021, Regular Municipal Election.

VOTING SYSTEM AUDIT
CONDUCTING A MANUAL AUDIT OF VOTING SYSTEM
The meeting of the Canvassing Board of the City of Fort Meade will convene at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the Elections Operations Center, 70 Florida Citrus Blvd. Winter Haven, FL. 33880, for the purpose of conducting the post-election audit. The Canvassing Board will randomly select a race that appears on the Ballot for the purpose of conducting a manual audit of the voting system used in the November 2, 2021, Municipal Election.

The City Clerk serves as the supervisor of elections for all City elections and the qualifying officer for candidates seeking elected office.
